Recommended reading for everyone, nothing more to say!

Project - Spinning to music #6

September 18th, 2012

Today listening to The Killers and their album Day & Age. Very good album, and as an album when spinning above average, a few slow songs, but for instance Human makes hard training a whole lot easier.

Project - Spinning to music #5

September 18th, 2012

Now taking full advantage of my new iPhone, Spotify installed and while spinning yesterday I did listen to the album Smugglers by the band We. And what a joy to be spinning to such amazing rock'n roll! A superb album well worth listening to again and again!

Early morning at Ulsrudvann

September 15th, 2012

Woke up at 06 this morning, and since the weather was so nice I decided to go for an early bike ride, had to be home before 08:30 since Elin had planned to go to SATS. So no mercy, a quick breakfast and then out on my bike. And what a beautiful morning, stopped at Ulsrudvannet and took two pictures before heading towards Klemetsrud, Grønmo and then back via Østmarkskapellet. Hoping for more mornings like that to come.

Nokia out / Apple in

September 15th, 2012

New job, new phone. But, will keep my old Nokia for the hardcore outdoor days, with rain and temperatures below 0 celsius. Also keep in mind that if you are higher than 3000 meters above sea level...Apple says you can't bring your iPhone (see here).

Ok, I admit it, I'm not that enthusiastic when it comes to Apple products, even though I'm writing this on our Macbook Pro does not mean I'm religious when it comes to eating apples... :-)

Orango in concert

September 14th, 2012

Tonight me and Espen went to John Dee and saw Orango in concert. Before they went on stage we also got to see Grand Cafe. Good one both of them, an evening full with rock'n roll, could it be better?

Project - Spinning to music #2

September 12th, 2012

Yesterday - Fu Manchu "The Action Is Go". 55 minutes of stoner rock...I really enjoy both Fu Manchu and stoner rock, but the whole cd without any pause, I hate to admit it, but it was not that much fun.

Project - Spinning to music

September 11th, 2012

My new project started yesterday called "Spinning to music". Each time I use my spinning bike in the basement I will listen to a cd (or all the mp3's belonging to that cd off course) from #1 to the last song. Started out with Howl, A Higher Class of Lush. It has been a while since I listened to that cd, but always a joy!

Luckily presentation is not all

September 10th, 2012

Tried the recipe for pizza/pancake found at Matprat.no. If you compare the picture of the result of my work with the presentation at Matprat it is a slight difference. Luckily presentation is not what counts the most, taste does, and it tasted good.

Porter and Irish porter cheese

September 9th, 2012

Friday evening - enjoying the evening with a bottle of D.Carnegie Porter and Irish Porter-cheese. Nice!

Little Steven's Underground Garage

September 7th, 2012

The Norwegian radio channel Rox 90.1 http://www.radiorox.no/ - representing the light in the tunnel for me, good rock'n roll to be played loud as h¤#" when out driving the car. And the internet radio is also providing a very good service, always showing which artists being played. Two hours a week Little Steven can be heard on Radio Rox, which has opened my eyes for Little Steven's Underground Garage http://undergroundgarage.com/. And off course let's not forget Kvegpels http://radionova.no/programmer/kvegpels ...yet another source for strange news and good music.

New job - working for KLP

September 4th, 2012

Last Friday was my last day working for Telenor. Been there nearly three years and have had a great time together with good colleagues, learned a lot and also did get to ride my bike back and forth many, many times.

But yesterday I started working for KLP http://www.klp.no. Will be working with well known stuff such as WebSphere Application Server off course, but also I will get to dive into the details of FileNet Content Manager and such. Located next to Oslo Central Station it is the perfect place to be commuting to.

Online again

September 4th, 2012

My blog is yet again up and running after about two days of downtime. The issue has been related to my ISP having moved my domain to another server. This caused http://hellem.org to reply with another ip than http://www.hellem.org. In addition the database server had been moved so I had to update the configuration files to the blog.

But, now back again!
