My neighbour made fun of my car, this is my revenge. He was out washing his car, so here I am sending soot over to him creating a need for washing yet again…messing with me is not left unnoticed.

Manual labour part #1: My idea of having fun…
My idea of having fun on a Friday evening: After Elin and the kids had gone to sleep I went out and started digging a ditch behind the outbuilding where I’m not able to use the backhoe loader (or any other machine) without risking rolling down the step hill. Decided to spend an hour, well aware that it will take longer, but my back is not prepared for more than an hour. Must admit that I admire Elins grandfather and his crew that dug out all this manually with the help of a small tractor. One thing is for me to dig the ditch next to the concrete wall, but digging everything when most if it is stone hard clay…OMG!
When done I will try to get rid of the moss, then mount the plastic protection on the concrete, lay drainage and cover with gravel.
Snow gone
Picture from yesterday morning, no snow anymore, but still below zero during night and early morning. Previous status was from the 7’th, found here

Less snow two days after – sign of spring
On Sunday the 1’st Iver and I was out enjoying the snow. Two days after I went for a run and the conditions had completely changed, picture taken at the same locations as the one from the previous blog post showing the snow sledge at the bottom right.
Doing it the old fashioned way
Applying the final touch on the concrete floor before we can start to lay the parquet flooring. The concrete needed to be leveled, small job doing that – the problem was afterwards when I had to clean the tooling. Since all water faucets outside still was frozen I went down to the small stream (brook) and cleaned it there, just like Elin’s grandmother washed clothes back in the old days. Worked as a charm, tools and bucket all clean and nice now.
