Askerrunden 2012

Last Sunday I participated in Askerrunden, 67 kilometers in…Asker…quite happy with the result all in all. 33 of 39 ain’t no good, but the time was ok. Sick two weeks ago, so I was very happy that I was able to hang in there together with a few others. Was not able to help them as much as I wanted, but they helped me a lot…

Found this video, have to work harder next year so I can get a part in the movie as well 🙂

Summary of this week bikerides

Previously I’ve blogged about the bike ride me and Espen had. Thursday morning I spent some quality time down in the basement before work changing from winter to summer tires on my commuter. So now it is ready for more speed back and forth to work.

Friday after work I took the long road out to my in-laws. Started at home and went via Ytre Enebakk, Solbergfoss, Havnås and Hemnes before ending up at my in-laws. 110 kilometers on my new Everest, need the hours before going to Germany.

Quick stop at Solbergfoss.

Walk/bike-path close to Askim.

Yesterday I took the bike out for a quick spin, just a bit more than one hour. Ok, it is no snow left, but head wind three out of four orientations (? – north, south, west, east) and pretty cold made it hard to believe that spring is here…

Enebakk Rundt – testing my new bike

Decided to go Enebakk Rundt today, even though I did not feel all to good, just had to test my new bike when the weather was so nice. Enjoyed the bike, almost as fast as my road bike. But must admit that I expected the head wind to be back wind after a while since it was a round, but as before, the wind turns all the way so I had it in my face all the time 🙁

Picture taken just before Kirkebygda. No snow at all…

Weekend milestones: Road biking, 1000 km and 500 workouts

Several milestones this weekend

  • Snow almost gone away, warm weather, got to use my road bike last Sunday
  • 1000 kilometers on bike so far this year, thanks to commuting
  • 500 workouts registered on my cell phone using Sports Tracker…had it for two years, so not that impressing, but fun to know at least

And thanks to the people at Renovasjonsetaten at Oslo Kommune who already have been out sweeping the bike (and walk) road out at Klemetsrud.

Oh joy!!! New bike: Everest Twenty9

After having considered for a while whether to buy a Scott Scale 29 Expert or the Everest Twenty9 I decided yesterday to go for less weight – so here it is in our living room, the brand new 2011 Everest Twenty9…even Elin accepted the fact that the bike is placed here for a while. Can’t take it outside just yet… So now it is truly all up to me when heading for Germany in June.

All the technical details can be found here www.oslosportslager.no/…/everest-twenty9-carbon-2011-terrengsykkel

Can’t wait to test the SRAM 2×10, I read the thread found here forums.mtbr.com/…/why-3×10-vs-2×10-662945.html and what some points out that the overlap is decreased a lot it just what I was hoping for…spring, come and get me!!

What a view!

Got a spinning bike in the basement. Just had to share the view…thank god for the mp3-player with A Perfect Circle, Iron Maiden, Depeche and more, without it I would have gone mad…or at least I would never have spent any time there.

Moist…sweat…
