Last Saturday I attended Marlow Grand Prix – a race close to home, so I just had to get on the bike and in 15 minutes I was at the start. Fun, good training, as always I would wish that I could do it faster, but then I need to be better prepared – so I leave that for next year. What I also need to do before next year is to buy many pairs of new socks. I got caught by the style police – and if the style police have had the right to arrest without a warrant I would have been arrested for having to short socks. To my defence it was ok years ago, so I just said that I’m really so 2008’ish (believeing that it is still called Shimano LX, but I’m wrong it is called Shimano 540 … or something…)

Nybakkrunden last Saturday
Last Saturday Espen and I attended Nybakkrunden. Here mounting the bikes at the back of the car, all ready to go.
And here after the race. Espen had an accident, another biker simply crashed into him and he got some wounds but nothing seriously. But still, when he was down I did pass him, it was just about 1k after start. After a minute or two he came up to me, we talked, and then he put some more energy to it and … he was gone leaving me with my pride hurt. So now its time to start being a bit more targeted traning. I spent 10 minutes more than 4 years ago, so not happy at all.
Running up to Slogen and down again, and the aftermath
Four days ago I headed out from Liasætra, heading for Patchelhytta, Slogen and then Øye. The weather was nice and so was the run/walk up to the top of Slogen. Took some pictures at the top, here towards Norangsdalen
And here Norangsfjorden
And then, 1 hour and 30 minutes from 1564 meters down to the sea at Øye. Had to be as fast as possible to be there on time and I did, but it came with a price. My thighs did hurt as h$#, and even now – four days after – I am having issues walking normally. My thighs are still very, very sore, actually I think this is the worst time ever when it comes to soreness…but, it was worth it and I will do it again…but on another top.
Trip to Hærfangkjerka
Two days ago Espen and I decided to take an evening run to Hærfangkjerka. Read a lot about it http://www.norsknatur.no/boker/romerike/harfang.htm and seen plenty of pictures. I even have tried to find it myself, but back then I had to little time before it got dark, so I gave up. But this time of the year no problem. About half an hour running from Skjatvet http://www.skjatvet.no/, then 10 minutes of climbing on slippery rocks with moss, but finally there
Instead of climbing back down again, it is possible to find your way through the cave, but we did not try it out this time.
Nice view.
Been there, done that, most likely I will return with my kids, but have to wait until they get a lot older. To dangerous for small kids to go there.
(Hike) Orienteering at Tukuhøgda
Last Friday I did map 1 of 4 from this years “Turorientering” – hike orientering (?) – in Aurskog Høland. It takes me places I for sure would not have gone otherwise, this time Tukuhøgda. Searching Google I find almost nothing about Tukuhøgda apart from weather reports and orienteering. But I what I did find was this article from 2012 about a couple out walking and meeting the wolf http://www.indre.no/lokale-nyheter/forfulgt-av-ulv/s/1-65-6142920 – so no doubt that turorientering is risky business.

Exploring the neighbourhood: Up to Trollkjerka and home over Basteheia
Very nice weather today, first time “short/short” when biking. Headed to Tyrihjell and then up to Trollkjerka on the forest road.
A bit steep at the beginning, but still possible to ride the bike.
View south towards Hølands Varde.
Still easy to ride the bike
Almost at the top, single track, had to push the bike every now and then, but mostly it was possible to ride the bike.
Heading down from Trollkjerka, passing by Langvannet
Now down from Basteheia towards Fosser
Still Basteheia, very fun to ride the bike here. All dried up, very good conditions today.
Early bike ride: Tunsjøen – Gurihøldalen – Svanmoåsen – Aurskog – Bjørkelangen
Yet another chance today. Started out the same direction as yesterday, but when at Tunnsjøbotten I headed north towards Aurskog. Here at Tunnsjøbotten, the old barn is no more
View from the old croft (I do belive that’s the correct word) – small farm, towards Tunsjøen
Quite steep up from Tunnsjøbotn up towards Gurihølsæter, see the workout analysis for details, link below.
Up at Svanmoåsen where I was able to ride my bike for some short distances. But since there had been done tending of the road not many years ago there was plenty of small tree stumps so I decided to carry and push the bike to avoid the gear shifter to be torn off by a stubborn stump.
All names along the route found thanks to Norgeskart. See all details at Sports-tracker.com
Early bike ride: Tunsjøen – Skottdalen – Korsbekken – Langfoss
Woke up 06:30 today, very nice weather and the youngest one at his grandparents – got up and had a quick breakfast and headed out. A bit chilly, sometimes when walking over bog’s the water froze to ice on the tyres when I stopped. Apart from that, all fine.
First picture – the barrier at Tunsjøen
An old house by Tunsjøen
A cabin on a small island
At the end of Tunsjøen
End of the road and now on to the road less travelled.
Passing just by the border of Prestehesten nature reserve
No road, had to carry the bike. 3-4 km which I had to push and carry the bike over bog. Tried to avoid to get wet since it was chilly and therefore it was a bit of ups and downs – mostly ups.
Bog
Skottdalen, a bit to wet to ride the bike, had to push it.
Small map, see all here http://www.sports-tracker.com/workout/rhellem/571b1b6de4b0543237d46716
First bike ride this year
Cross country-skiing at Løken this weekend
Enjoying what might be, but hopefully not, the last pieces of good skiing where we live. Had to go late to the shop yesterday, when I saw someone in the lighte cross-country skiing track down at Løken. So I just went straight home and picked up the skis and headed right back for my first time doing cross-country skiing in….at least two years, possibly more… (not good). And then back this evening as well. The weather forecast is no good for skiing, so maybe once more tomorrow, but then the rain will come and all is gone.
Picture from yesteday evening.
