Last weekend together with colleagues from work I did participate in Holmenkollstafetten. Good day, did run 24 seconds faster than last year (7:57), I got the night off as well from home so I could attend to the banquet and sleep a whole night – staying at Scandic Hotel at Helsfyr…luxury!

Spinning to Samsaya
Yesterday I was spinning while listening to Samsaya and her new album Bombay Calling. Did enjoy it while working out, has a couple of potential hits as well. Simen did previously ask me to provide more details about each album I listen to, to much work, instead providing a link to a review of the album
And here showing how easy it is to loose focus while working out. Just by reaching out my hand I am able to grab a beer, or booze for that matter…trying to stay strong.
Rowing to Scott Weiland & The Wildabouts
Yesterday rowing while listening to Scott Weiland and The Wildabouts and their album Blaster. Was actually not aware of it when picking the album, but I have listened to him a lot before when he was part of Stone Temple Pilots. Anyhow, Blaster, quite enjoyable, but not really work out music. Not really sure if I will listen to the album several times, but I won’t turn off the music if it comes on the radio.
Spinning to The Sonics
…The Sonics are an American garage rock band from Tacoma, Washington, originating in the early 1960s.[1] Among the Sonics’ contemporaries were the Kingsmen, the Wailers, the Dynamics, the Regents, and Paul Revere & the Raiders. Their aggressive, hard-edged sound has been a major influence on punk, garage, and hard rock music worldwide, and they’ve been named as inspirations by Nirvana, Bruce Springsteen, The Fall, and other major artists….

“This is the Sonics” was released just now, and was quite enjoyable, might listen to the album several times when working out.
Spinning to Foo Fighters
Yesteday spining to Foo Fighters and their album Wasting Light, good one!
Spinning to Brant Bjork and the Low Desert Punk Band
On Sunday I finally got help to carry my spinning bike in from the barn and down to the basement. So once again, I could do a “spinning to” (I could have done it outside in the barn as well, but I prefer being inside when doing indoor training…). So this time spinning to Brant Bjork and the Low Desert Punk Band and the album Black Power Flower. As much as I like desert rock, it is a bit hard to keep up the pace on my spinning bike for the length of the whole album while listening to kinda slow music (but still heavy), so I did actually finish it all up with some Hatebreed.
Rowing to – Motor Sister "Ride"
On Saturday, while rowing, listening to the album Ride by Motor Sister. Kinda made me remember back in the days when listening to Gary Moore, it was somewhat to much blues to me which again made it hard to keep up the pace, had to switch to some random play list afterwards with more fast music
.
Rowing to – Hjerteslag "Møhlenpris Motell"
At the start of January I bought a used rowing machine, the Infinity R100. Last Friday I spent time on it listening to the album from Hjerteslag – “Møhlenpris Motell”. Good one
Exploring my neighborhood: Running from Grepperud to Løken
Elin dropped me off at Grepperud today when we headed home from Bjørkelangen. I did then run passing by Botnersætra and then uphill to Basterheia. At Basterheia my iPhone decided to reboot, therefore I have it documented in two exercises at Sports-tracker. When having the premium version of Sports-tracker I have Norgeskart available, making it way more easy to find my way compared to Google Maps or MapQuest which Sports-tracker uses on the web. Anyhow, from Basterheia, passing Gravtjenn – wrote my name in the training diary located there, then following a straight line down to Løken (possible since the farmers has not started spring work yet).
Nice one, will actually do this together with my kids one day, stopping at Fosser it is doable for them as well.
Screenshots from my phone showing the route
Then various pictures from the route
Running towards Trollkjerka
Last Friday I had some time and did try to run towards Trollkjerka. Unfortunately I did not have enough time to get all the way to the top, to much snow slowing me down, but in a couple of weeks it should ready for a nice run.
Using Sporstracker I did track the run, see details here http://www.sports-tracker.com/workout/rhellem/54f9776ee4b023d8f49e7219
