Wonderland – The Sountrack

We did watch the movie Wonderland, telling the story about the Wonderland Murders http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wonderland_Murders where John Holmes, the old porno star, was involved some way or the other. The music is from the early 80’s and late 70’s, some of it really good, and therefore I bought the album right away.

Pearl Jam – Live in Tokyo, March 3, 2003 (2 cd)

From Platekompaniet, says it all

Recorded live at the Budokan, Toyko, Japan, on March 3rd, 2003. A decade down the road, when most of the original Seattle grunge bands had fallen prey to either mortality, acrimony, or changing public tastes, Pearl Jam still stood tall above the well-settled, flannel-flecked dust. At the dawn of the 21st century, presumably in an effort to beat the bootleggers, the band starting releasing dozens of live albums. The best of these, like this 2003 disc, demonstrate the group’s continuing vitality. From early grunge-era anthems such as “Evenflow” and the survivors’ anthem “Alive” to the death-rock cover “Last Kiss” and the melodic, contemplative “Betterman,” the full breadth of the band’s vision is shown. As befits a band that Neil Young once used as a backing outfit, they know how to jam without veering into self-indulgence–a good thing, considering how many concert recordings were already floating around by the time of this double-disc release.

Bought it because of the song Yellow Ledbetter http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellow_Ledbetter Pearl Jam, one of the best!

Samvirkelaget – Musikk

Needed to get rid of some cash 🙂 And I do like both Gatas Parlament and Hopalong Knut, so why not try this cd which is a cooperation between the two bands.

Samvirkelaget

And, Hopalong is written with only one ‘p’, not two, thanks to their blog I have corrected myself 🙂

But, on the other hand, this cd is important due to the song “Stopp Volden”

MC5 – High Time

MC5, or Motor City 5. When this pieces of Rock’n Roll history shows up for only 20 NOK at Platekompaniet I just had to rescue it.

From Wikipedia

Within just a few years of their dissolution, however, the MC5 were often cited as one of the most important American hard rock groups of their era: their three albums are regarded as classics, and they exerted an influence on metal and especially punk rock. The widely-covered “Kick Out the Jams” is probably their best-known song.

The Blues Brothers – Best Of

When I was eighteen and lived on the third floor of A. Markussonsvei 15 I did rent the movie, bought a pizza grandiosa and a six pack of beer. I wanted to see the movie, eat pizza and get drunk all alone. I do not remember being drunk, but I did it…so when the cd was on sale for 20 NOK, why not bring back some memories
