While early at work today I’m pushing the sky away…listening to the brand new album from Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds “Push the Sky Away“. It is their fifteenth studio album (!!) and still worth listening to, impressing! Do believe I have almost all their cd’s already, this one must be part of my collection as well, not only as offline album from Wimp.

Los Saicos – ¡Demolición! The Complete Recordings
Got the band recommended while listening to Verdensherredømme, the episode about Peru. Los Saicos were a Peruvian garage rock band in the -60’s, read more about them at Wikipedia.
As I’m aware of, ¡Demolición! was their biggest hit, a song about blowing up the train station (according to Verdensherredømme)

Three bands in concert last night
Went to Rockefeller together with Simen, Kjetil, Inge and Are. It was the release concert of Black Debbath’s and Audrey Horns last album. First out was Truckfighters. Never heard of them before, but it turns out that they started back in 2001. Must say I really enjoyd them, clearly influenced by bands I love such as Kyuss. I ran to the merch shop and bought a t-shirt and their first cd, and also got some stickers and such.
Then it was Audrey Horne. Nothing bad with their performance, but I just don’t like that genre. To much hairy-eighties, just not everyone with hair.
And finally Black Debbath, “Nå får det faen meg være rock! Akademisk stoner-rock!”, very, very good.
After the concert, Simen being a strongman.
Since I do not buy cd’s anymore
My old blog, which really just is a category instead of a blog, the cdonly is close to dead since I do not buy cd’s anymore. But I still listen to music, so I will instead blog about albums I listen to – and my own criteria will be that I must have listened to all songs on the album. Same as for the “Spinning to music”, but since I listen to music in the car and at work as well…
- West of Memphis: Voices for justice. Read more about it at Indiewire.com. Many songs I enjoyed, such as the covers of “Little Lion Man” originally by Mumford & Sons and also my favorite hangover song “Mother” by legendary Pink Floyd. Now also listening to The White Buffalo since he also has a song on the album.
- On my way to my in-laws last Sunday, I listened to Orango and their latest album Colonial Militia vol 2. Enjoy the genre and therefore this is my kinda a music as well, but I did not get a kick of it so it does not get high rotation on my playlist.
Spinning to Rival Sons
Album #17, Rival Sons and their first album Before the Fire. Blues/Hard rock, back to the 70’s. Good one!

Spinning to Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
Spinning to Deftones
Today, #15, spinning to Deftones and their latest album Koi No Yokan. Well worth listening to, but must admit that I will not keep it as an offline playlist.

Thursday – #14, I was spinning to The Strokes and their album Is This It from 2001. Enjoyed some of the songs, but not impressed.
This one is one of the better.

Spinning to Pulp
#13 – Spinning to Pulp and the greatest hits album. Enjoying Common People and Disco 2000, but … the rest, not my cup of tea while spinning.

#12 – Spinning to Of Monsters and Men and their album My head is an animal earlier this week. Really enjoyed it!
