Cleaning all my bikes when at Vestreng. Washed them, applied wax, took off all three chains and cleaned them using diesel, then I bent all the chain links one by one to remove as much dirt as possible. A few hours of quality time

Das Boot visting Oslo
On Saturday me and Anders took the subway and got of at the Central Station and walked over to the Opera, to let him run around and let me have a look at the German submarine U-33.
Together with the submarine you can also see two other German boats, the tugboat A1452 Spiekeroog and the mine hunter Datteln. All the details to be found in the article from Dagbladet.
Must say I thought the submarine should be bigger, my cell phone camera did not manage to capture it any good all the way from the Opera.
And here a follow up from my post from the 3’rd of March this year, about the house being teared down. Now there is no traces from the house, just a parking lot.
The King of Kong
After a tip from Atle I bought “The King of Kong“. If you found “The Story of Anvil” worth watching, you will really enjoy The King of Kong. How can someone put so much effort into video games is beyond belief is you ask me. Some disputed facts of course when it comes to how the movie presents the story, but hey…you don’t ruin a good story with facts.
…but, now there is a new record set http://www.twingalaxies.com/index.aspx?c=22&pi=2&gi=3852&vi=22
[video:youtube:xMJZ-_bJKdI]Band of Brothers – tv mini-series
Finally finished all ten episodes of Band of Brothers and what a serie. A monumental documentation of Easy Company and their struggles from the D-Day until the end of WW2. Really enjoy how you get to know each one of the men, each episode have short interviews of men from Easy before it starts. Must also say that the last episode with the ending with one of them telling a story about a grandson asking grandpa if he was a hero in the war. “No, but I fought with a company of heroes!”. One of them being Major Dick Winters for sure!
A must see, again and again – like Generation Kill, another great HBO series. Also exited about the new series The Pacific, wondering if it will be as good as Band of Brothers and Generation Kill.
A Serious Man
We saw “A Serious Man” this evening at home on DVD. Yet another movie by the Cohen brothers. Given very good reviews we hoped for a good laugh…but…neither mine or Elins cup of tea so to speak.
Weekend at Skeikampen
Thomas, Espen and I have been skiing this weekend at Skeikampen. Not the best resort, but after we had been following the weather forecast the last week we decided that due to danger of avalanches some places and not enough snow other places Skeikampen was the best choice.
Saturday morning we woke up to a beautiful day. The sun was shining and the temperature was perfect, during the day we even got some slushy snow.
Look, me wearing my helmet…Espen and Thomas just behind. Skeikampen can be fun when the snow conditions are good, even if the slopes are not the longest ones, off piste is easily accessible from the lifts.
But when the conditions are just average or not even that, Skeikampen gets a bit boring. So when we woke up this morning and saw that the weather was like this, well…icy conditions with some snow here and there…we drove home at 12
Two days in Hemsedal
Spent two days in Hemsedal together with my colleagues from Telenor. Nice weather, the snow conditions are not to good this season, but still: two very good days for skiing. Not in a position to complain since I do not get to do so much skiing anymore. Parts of the first day documented with Sportstracker
On our way to Hemsedal on Wednesday, from Hønefoss with …
Thursday, at Radiohytta
End of the day on Thursday, Stig and I on our way down from Matter, aiming at the door of our cabin.
At the top of the world, when in Hemsedal at least, almost 1500 meters above sea level.

[video:youtube:VOMWV7XwGxY]Lumber jack, yet again
Been out at Vestreng this weekend, and spent 4-5 hours out collecting fire wood. Very nice day, both yesterday and today. Created a short film using the video camera on my new cell phone, the Nokia E72. The tractor is, as the movie title implies a Ford 4000, mounted with equipment for doing forest tending.
[video:youtube:ko5het5YB2s]Anal bleaching on Margaret Cho
Was watching Margaret Cho on NRK3. Today she tried one thing that I was not aware of at all, many things are a big issue when you want to stay young the Hollywood-way.
Anal bleaching is “the process of lightening the area around the anus by bleaching it to get rid of any dark pigmentation that might be a result of a lifetime of body changes.” Some light-skinned people have some degree of darker pigmentation of the skin immediately around the anus, which can be mistaken for poor personal hygiene

[video:youtube:fhyNZDGs228]…for the record, Cho made fun of it 🙂
Tested: Hamax Sno Giant
Last Saturday I had to buy a new snow sledge to Anders in a hurry. The requirement was that both me and him could fit the sledge. The plan was to buy a sledge with steering and such, but Alnasenteret I could only find the Hamax Sno Giant, and since it was reasonably priced I bought it.
So Sunday morning, out in the snow to test the new sledge. Fail 1, Anders is not able to hold himself, so when I pull the rope he will easily fall backwards. Fail 2: I tried it down the landingslope of the ski jump at Haugerud. I was not able to keep myself on it the whole way down, holding the handles was not of much help. Fail 3, but ok maybe not a fail – but when I tried the ski jump using the sledge it cracked…
So what I want to now is the Hamax Sno Taxi, but since I have not found any shops selling it I guess I must buy the Sno Cross sled. Anders is still way to small for it, but together we can have much fun.
