Red Bull Sparkstøtting Supercross

Yesterday Petter, Sverre and I went to see the Red Bull Sparkstøtting Supercross competition held at Grefsenkollen ski center. Crazy and a huge amount of pure fun, no doubt about that.

Around 50 teams, two on each kicksledge (sparkstøtting), one had to be the passenger and the other one the driver. The last 50 meters they both had to stand up and kick, not run, towards the finishing line.

Afterwards Espen joined us for two hours of cross country skiing. My first time on skis this season, pretty bad, but that’s how it is now these days.

Cleaning up my backpack

Using an old backpack when using my bike to work. Opened one of the pockets and had a thorough look yesterday and found this document from the vacation me, Loy and Espen had in 2004. Remember the sleeping directly on the floor as the most extreme thing, or maybe the elephant ride was most extreme…extremely boring…

Tractor fail and forest tending

Out at Vestreng this weekend, been out and doing forest tending and preparing for next winter, cutting down fire wood. Had a tractor fail on my way back one time. Not a hard thing to fix, just had to put in reverse then the tree was freed from the wheel.

This is the result of 1 1/2 days of work, ten more and I should have taken out enough for next winter.

A must see, trains plowing snow. Plenty of clips available on Youtube off course. Elin thought I was crazy when she heard asked what I was watching an evening early last year, but that was until she had seen it. She loved it!

Beer tasting at Akersberget

Yesterday I was invited to Akersberget Restaurant for a combined dinner and Christmas beer tasting. The beer tasting was arranged by Ølakademiet. Off course great fun, but also interesting to learn some facts about beer other than just “This is pilsner, and this is ale”. Akersberget also has its charm, you can touch the mountain when inside. Good food and good beer, good evening!
