Hotel Rwanda
Plenty of spare time in the evenings when in Gothenbourg, so I turned on the tv and there a movie started called Hotel Rwanda. I heard of the movie a few weeks ago when Paul Rusesabagina visited Norway. Of many great and brave people in the world he must on the bleeding top for sure. It makes you feel bad, but if any comfort at all, the same had happened in the outskirts of Europe just one-two years earlier. No comfort at all, why should it be like this…

Welcome to Sarajevo
In Gothenbourg teatching the WP610, when arriving at the hotel to drop off my computer I switched on the tv. Started watching a movie on TV1000 called Welcome to Sarajevo. Even if I’m hungry as hell I could not stop watching it. It is based on the war from 1992 to 1993 and it is really authentic in the way a movie are able to be authentic without being a documentary. You just realize how bad war is, and it makes me want to do stuff, but what are you able to do? Woody Harrelson as Flynn says one thing in the movie “I’m sorry for it being the Christians killing the Muslims an not the opposite, then maybe we would have gotten help here”. I’m not really in to the conflict on the Balkans, but I wonder how much of that might have been true? The movie uses some clips of John Major, George Bush sr. and other politicians saying much, but also nothing. But, then again, politics – not for me to understand. Anyhow, watch it…!

Walking 4 kilometres
Today I had to walk 4 kilometers, not an impressing distance, but then again – it was annoying. I was out with my bicycle for a short ride. When I started I realized that I had forgotten my backpack, but I thought that I would not need it. So there I was 40 minutes later on my way home when the sound “pssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhh” came, quite loud – I had a puncture!! So I had to walk back home wearing my cycle shoes…my legs are hurting!
Shirin Ebadi – “Iran Våkner”
The latest book I have read by Shirin Ebadi “Iran Awakening: A Memoir of Revolution and Hope” or “Iran Våkner” in Norwegian. A very good book, and with a very good twist at the end. Finally I found a book which gave another and human view of Islam. But then again, it is also a dark book, giving us a peak into the daily life of Iran after the revolution in 1979. State and religion should be separated, no doubt. I’ve said it before, having Kjell Magne Bondevik as prime minister here in Norway was no good, the same goes for Bush and his friends laying all in the hands of God. Faith is for the church, when it comes to politics only real life facts are good enough. Anyhow I will recommend everyone to read it…
