First time running in two years

Today I struggled trying to decide what to do, go out with my MTB, or my racer bike, or lift weights, so after hours of trying to make a decision I ended up running. I have not done an hour of running in more than two years due to my injury after running 5 marathons in one year. My legs are feeling a bit sore, but nothing extraordinary taken in consideration that it is two years…

I ran around Lutvann, took me an hour…it’s good to be back! (Hopefully)

Raspberry supplies from up north

My mum came on a short visit yesterday, and from my grandma she brought a large supply of raspberry jam. As usual when grandmas does stuff involving food it is not just a small portion, so the picture shows Elin putting ten boxes of jam into our freezer. I tasted the jam this morning, it was delicious, so all honor to my grandma

Combine harvesting

This weekend both me and Lars Tormod tried the combine harvester for the first time at Vestreng. According to the Glende girls father we both need to plan for the future and learn the skills needed out on the country side. So there we where, doing time in the combine harvester for the first time on Saturday. So now I can put that on my resume as well

And just to mention it, the wheat I was harvesting at the time the picture is taken is off course timely fashioned since it is ecological wheat

Update: According to my former colleague Kåre Christian I was not harvesting wheat http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wheat but oat http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oat. Big difference…

Trailer mishappening

I was about to call this post “Trailer accident”, but that would have been to strong words. Yet again I was out with the old tractor at Vestreng, and yet again the trailer was unmounted without my agreement from the tractor. The first time 2007/04/23/trailer_unmounted_from_the_tractor

This time I took a shortcut just right across the road, over the ditch and on to the field. When the tractor was down in the ditch I heard a sound of metal on the tarmac, no problem usually, just keep on driving…but this time the trailer was unmounted and nicely parked right across one of the driving lanes. So I had to run after a rope and then pull it out on the field. The picture is taken after the heroic rescue

Handy utensils used in our kitchen

Just had to take a picture of the various utensils Elin has gotten hold of the past time. To the left you see a tool for separating the mango fruit from the mango stone, in the middle the well known IKEA-tooling to split apples and to the right a steel soap. What to do with a steel soap? It removes the smell of garlic and onion from your fingers, as I’m told since I have not tested it myself…

BigBang live in concert

I was not able to be there, or, in fact I did not bother, but when I see the webcast from the concert on Saturday http://rita.nrk.no/community/oya07/ – Girl in Oslo, I really do regret it…seven drummers playing live (One of them is Trond), and the opening on the following song To The Mountain where Greni really is showing off with is guitar… enjoy!!!

Gardening work

This week Kent is staying at our place, so I used to opportunity to get help when I needed to do some work in the garden. First of all we needed to mount the outdoor cloth rack, which had been unmounted due to our house being repainted this summer. I guess when they pulled up the rack the holes in the ground had been filled with loose soil so we where unable to just put the poles back down. So I had rented a earth auger to do the work. We thought we could just start it, use it, and then mount the poles, but no, no, no. As the series of pictures show, we had to do some real work, using both tools and our bare hands.

When finished with the clothes rack, we did some poles along the road as well. Need those to prevent snow being dumped into our garden during the winter.
