Elin, Johan and Johan had their release concert yesterday at Kampen Bistro. The concert was a success, there where a lot of people, from all the way up north down to Milan.

Another update to my skin
I figured out how to get the date showing, so now my posts are grouped by date pr. day. And I also found a PHP-script giving me a random background picture on the header. Had to struggle a bit, but by doing it …not entirely by the book… it worked.

Trailer unmounted from the tractor
On Saturday I was supposed to dump a load of firewood when the trailer jumped off the hock as shown on the picture. Luckily the trailer was stopped from flipping backwards of the rig on the tractor.

I kept calm, lowered the trailer and got the real equipment

Facebook – I’m out of there!
I once was tricked into registering a profile at Facebook, wondering what this was. Suddenly I got a bunch of requests, and it all ended up with me now disabling the account. I have a profile at LinkedIn, and I do feel I have enough to do maintaining that profile and my own blog. LinkedIn is for professional use, if someone wants to find me on the internet they can just google my name and voila – there is my blog…
Siri Lill Mannes – Livvakt i Helvete
I’ve just read the book “Livvakt i helvete”. It is alarming to read about the conditions in the Russian army, how much corruption that takes place there, and most of all it is alarming how high up in the system it all goes. If only half of what is written in the book is true, Russia and its leaders are no better than old Stalin and the rest of that gang. It has inspired me to find out more. The book was more like a crime fiction book than a documentary due to all the terrifying stories, but nevertheless it is an important book that you should spend time reading.

Mad taxi driver
Had to take my car to service today. While driving in my street Haugerudhagan which has a speed limit of 30 kmph a taxi came very close to my rear, and suddenly he passed me. I was driving at 30 kmph so I felt that I had to notify the taxi driver that I did not agree with his action. So I did the only thing I felt was right, used the horn and flipped my finger. The result: He flipped his finger as well while slowing down to about 30, I disagreed since he had been the one breaking the law, not me, so I flipped the finger once again. Then he stopped and got out of the car, a young Pakistani playboy looking driver. He walked towards my car.
“What should I do now” I thought, leaving only one option – I got out as well, ready for some action 🙂 He said “Why do you flipp your finger towards me????”, I responded like the gentleman I am “You broke the speed limit, I felt that I had to notify you about me disagreeing with your action kind sir!”. “I have passengers who are in a hurry!” he replied (still with enough time to stop and yell at me). I replied “I live in this street, I’m tired of cars speeding here” – leaving him with only a “doh!” and then he walked back to the car and speeded away.
So kind sir in taxi A9043 from Christiania Taxi, stop speeding
My blog is yet again updated
I’ve now updated my blog again, so now I’m up and running with version 1.9.3 “Rainforest” of B2Evolution http://www.b2evolution.net. It is superb I must say, quite easy to upgrade as well, no hassle! I had to to two things to make it as I wanted, first enable cross-posting againg. It sometimes happens that I post to the wrong blog, for instance a new cd in my rBlogonly-blog, not in Albums only. Then I need to be able to move it. A simple update of admin.php in the conf folder is enough. Then I had to transfer the youtube-plugin files again. No hassle, since I had the files in the backup-folder from the old one.
My latest book
“Islam for begynnere”, after I had read “Hvorfor jeg ikke er muslim” I felt that I had to find a book that told me more about Islam, so I stumbled over this book on sale. I learned quite a lot of the fundamentals in Islam, but have in mind when reading it that it is not a neutral book. By this I mean that it does take side, for instance when mentioning the crusades it is more like “the horrible crusades…”. I had hoped for a more like a encyclopedia form of the text, but anyhow, it is a short book, easy to read and therefore worth spending time reading.
I tried to find yet another book about Islam in the book store, but I gave up. It seemed to me that there are two categories, and only two “Why I love Islam” and “Why I hate Islam”. I want a book where I can understand more about why things are the way they are, not “Osama bin Laden is a muslim, hence all muslims are bad”. I simply do not believe that every person who is a muslim wants to conquer the world and kill all non believers, beat all women and so on…
