Can’t remember the last time I went to a museum when not at holiday and such, must have been a few years ago when at Teknisk Museum with my brother Jonas. Anyhow, due to the book King Leopolds Ghost which I read earlier this year …2007/07/05/king_leopold_s_ghost_adam_hochschild
I decided to go to the museum when I saw that they had an exhibition called “Kongospor – Norden i Kongo”. So today we went to see it, first surprise – free admission, why don’t we go to museums more often? We had a bit of luck since just 5 minutes after we came there a guided tour started. To much to read at the exhibition made that an excellent choice. At the end of the guided tour, the guide told us about a son of a Norwegian pilot who had been missing after a crash for 29 years had been there just a few weeks ago. When finished telling that an elderly man raised his voice and said “It was I who flew that plane to Kongo together with Martin”, so then we got 5 minutes more of his story from Kongo. Due to the fact that I had no other book available I had to search the book shelf at home. Between all the books I have read before and other books with poems and such stuff I don’t read 🙂 I found this quite thin book http://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alkymisten Supposed to be one of the most read novels – anyhow, a simple and easy story, not so much more, but nothing less at least

Some months ago I bought a new cell phone, a Nokia 5500 Sport. I also bought a data cable to the phone, in that way I can update the phone software myself by using my pc. A good thing I thought, my guess was that since the phone uses a Symbian operative system there would be updates quite often…but nooooo. In fact, the software on my pc has been updated three times at least I believe, but my phone…never…

In my series of books I have bought to maybe get to understand Islam better I found this book. Some time ago I thought that I should read more about Islam to get a better understanding and then maybe respect the religion more than before. The paradox is that the more I read, the more I disagree with Islam. There are several issues with Islam that you don’t find in other religions, the most important thing is the Sharia, where the religion influences directly into the public life of the state – read more at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharia.

There is also several other issues such as the way women are treated according to Sharia, female genital cutting http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Female_genital_cutting, marriage between relatives, family planned marriages where the female might be very young.

There is also a big issue regarding how well integrated non western inhabitants are here in Europe. There are ghettos like Rosengård in Malmø, Sweden http://www.aftenposten.no/nyheter/uriks/article929662.ece, many unemployed leading to a big cost for the welfare system in each country.

I won’t tell you all that is written in the book, read it…then we can discuss it. Whether or not if it correct what she writes, I agree with Harald Stanghelle’s words at the beginning of the book

I must admit that it is a good thing that they have translated what they sing and showing it above the stage. Gave me the possibility to understand what was going on.

On my way to work today, waiting for the subway I first heard a loud noice, first I thought it was the subway coming way to early, but then I realized that it was two guys delivering an ice cream box, or new freezer to the candy store. Not something you see each day…

A bit strange anyhow, that this episode have banned Blackwater from all of Iraq. My guess is that this is not the first episode, so why all of a sudden throw them out now?
