A lot of Nick Cave

I must admit that I’m very in to Nick Cave for the time being. We have seven of his albums, that is still just half of all the studio albums he and The Bad Seeds have released, not counting Grinderman and such. The next album I need to buy is Murder Ballads. Currently listening to the Let Love In album.

WebSphere rocks!!

You might think that this is work related, and you are not totally wrong, but then again a bit wrong 🙂

First off all, WebSphere do rock, but this time it is my friend Brian who I know from several WebSphere-events who plays the drums at this years Impact in Las Vegas. Jerry Cuomo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gennaro_A._Cuomo is also playing together with him. What other software brand has such a cool CTO 🙂

By the way, Brian is invited by me and the people from Norsk Tipping to race Birkebeinerrittet http://www.birkebeiner.no/ (Brian, as I promised, you can use my bike 🙂 )

Alea jacta est

Hei og takk

Den er god, da bekrefter jeg

1. JA, jeg er med på 15-timer’n.

Har i utgangspunktet skrevet meg på 17-timer’n, melder fra til Gunnar at jeg
bytter lag. Biter tenna sammen og satser hardt på at dette skal gå. 🙂
….

So now I’m part of the team with the ambition of finishing Den Store Styrkeprøven in less than 15-hours if good conditions. Doh!

Not sure what the phrase “Alea jacat est” means? Find it out here

Todays bicycle ride

Today we started out on the same route as yesterday, but when at Roa we headed over the mountain to Maura, then back to Skedsmokorset, via Gjelleråsen and back home. All in all a bit more than 140K. A nice day, with sunshine and all.

Afterwards Espen came to visit us and we washed our bikes.

Yesterdays bicycle ride

Yesterday I joined Lille 40 (Lillehammer – Oslo 40 km/h average) on their training. I started from home and meet them at Gjelleråsen. We went back and forth to Roa in Nittedal. A total of 110 kilometers, it was good weather as well, so the five of us had a very nice ride.

Youtube has it all!

Just surfing around, I found one of my old teachers at YouTube, namely Harry Bjerkli. He is a very local country singer back home, but he sure knows his way around on the Internet.

The song is in Norwegian, so if you don’t understand my native language enjoy the tunes at least 🙂

Spring is here

Two days ago they our street was cleaned, surely a sign that spring is here. Some years ago they did it quite early, then winter came back with snow and the need for the sanding truck to start driving again…and then wash the streets yet again. Hopefully winter won’t return this year!

Bad response time on my blog

I’m currently having some issues with my blog giving it bad response times. Seems like it caused by connection problems with the database (MySql). The error log have some errno=2013 errors, can’t understand that all my problems are caused by some timeout issues. Must continue investigating this…

16.04.08: Small update. Testing right now, the response time is as it should be, very good. Maybe my ISP have done some fixing without me being aware of it. Hopefully it will stay this way

17.04.08 00:21 Got an email from my ISP Hostean. They have cleaned up the server, and now my blog is yet again fast as Speedy Gonzales!!

Doing maintenance on the pram

After just two days of use one of the wheels on our Emmaljunga City Cross pram started to creak and did not run smoothly. I took one call to Kattis Babyshop in Sweden where we bought the pram and got instructions to use a 10 mm drill and with my hands only make the hole for the axle a bit bigger. The reason for this is that a certain production series of these prams have an error…to small holes in the wheel for the axle. I did as instructed, and it all turned out for the best, we are now able to go out with the pram again.

btw: I would have been provided with a new wheel if the problem had not been fixed.
