Disk failure

The weather has been amazing today, and after having spent the whole day inside together with Anders who once again is sick I just had to take my bike and race trough Trulsrunden before Elin should head of to SATS. Halfway trough (see this clip at 0:30 to see where) my front wheel got jammed and I had to jump off my bike. My knee did hurt quite much, had to stop for some minutes before checking my bike realizing that the back wheel did not spin as it should. Realized the disk was totally messed up, but not worse than it did allow me to ride my bike back home. So no MTB tomorrow…

Street filled with cones

Our street is filled with cones. At first I did not understand why

But, when coming home from work I heard the sound of the woodpecker up in the utility pole. It is in fact pretty damaged due to the woodpecker using it to hold on to the cones while he eats the seeds.

Songs with a meaning

Got introduced to Glen Campbell “A better place” by listening to Kvegpels, Kristopher Schau talked about Campbell and this song in particular. While listening to it, remember that Campbell has alzheimer.

I’ve tried and I have failed, Lord
I’ve won and I have lost
I’ve lived and I have loved, Lord
Some times, at such a cost

[Chorus:]
One thing I know
The world’s been good to me
A better place, awaits you’ll see

Some days I’m so confused, Lord
My past gets in my way
I need the ones I love, Lord
More and more each day

Oooh, a better place.

Then, Campbell has been playing with many well known artists such as Elvis, Beach Boys and off course Johnny Cash

Which leads me on to Cash and his fantastic cover of Hurt, the song by Nine Inch Nails

Train stuck in hair

While playing with the kids Elin laid her head down on the Brio train tracks. Never again, because the train did not stop, even if it hit her head and kept spinning so the hair got jammed into the wheels…end of story: I needed to use the scissors to cut it loose…

Last day of summer?

Not that it has been a lot of summer at all this year, it has been very wet, but yesterday I guess it might have been last day of summer this year. When heading home from work it was clear blue sky and pretty hot actually. I only needed to wear short/short. Pretty different from last weeks spring flood.

Short/short

Spring tide in Oslofjorden yesterday

Pictures are kinda bad, taken with the Nokia N81 I borrow while my phone is being fixed (they have spent almost three weeks now), but still you get the point. The first picture is taken at Skøyen, or to be more accurate along Bestumkilen. As you see people had to walk and cycle on the lawn due to sea water flooding the walkway.

Alongside Frognerstranda, care for some Coca Cola?

Stomperudrittet 2011

Last Sunday I attended in Stomperudrittet. 37 kilometers with plenty of mud, mud and more mud. Due to heavy rain the last month in fact it was really heavy conditions, tires where sucked down into the mud in a way I had never experienced before. Even going downhill on the fields were really heavy and I was not able to gain any speed at all, in fact running was almost as easy. But – very much fun also.

My plan was to film before start and afterwards, since my friends Anders and Lars also attended, but I did not bother. Only thing I had in my mind when I had passed the finish line was to clean my bike and then myself. And when at home I even had to flush them using the garden hose.

Hoping for better conditions next year.
