New job – working for KLP

Last Friday was my last day working for Telenor. Been there nearly three years and have had a great time together with good colleagues, learned a lot and also did get to ride my bike back and forth many, many times.

But yesterday I started working for KLP http://www.klp.no. Will be working with well known stuff such as WebSphere Application Server off course, but also I will get to dive into the details of FileNet Content Manager and such. Located next to Oslo Central Station it is the perfect place to be commuting to.

Online again

My blog is yet again up and running after about two days of downtime. The issue has been related to my ISP having moved my domain to another server. This caused http://hellem.org to reply with another ip than http://www.hellem.org. In addition the database server had been moved so I had to update the configuration files to the blog.

But, now back again!

Summarize disk usage of all files of a given type

Needed to know how much disk space all *.ear-files was consuming in a directory on one of our Linux-servers

find . -type f -name "*.ear" -exec ls -l {} \; | awk '{print $5}' > sum.txt
awk '{ sum += $1 } END { print sum }' sum.txt

Then I used Google to make the number human readable, https://www.google.no/search?q=9606676582+bytes+to+gb

Oh joy!!

My brother-in-law has good taste, and they all where brought to me this evening! Good for cold and dark autumn evenings. Rökporter was requested, Nils Oscars Indian Pale ale I have also tasted before (good one!), the rest of them are new to me, looking forward to get to know them.

Nybakkrunden 2012

Last weekend I participated in Nybakkrunden, a small local competition at Mangenskogen close to Aurskog. 35 kilometer, mostly gravel roads, only 2 kilometers with forest road. Not technically difficult, but perfect for those who are preparing for Birkebeinerrittet the week after.

I ended up as #54, a bit faster than my goal which was 1:15. Here standing together with Torbjørn who won the whole race, spending around 11 minutes less than me (!).

Perpetuum mobile

Got this picture from my old colleague at Bertel O. Steen, Geir. It is my old bike, the famous Tricky Track made by DBS which I bought in 1994. At some point I decided that it was crap, but the handy man Geir was more than happy to use it, and still is, now 18 years after commuting to work.
