Having studied the instruction movie made by Lars Monsen on how to make a fire I insisted on not using any help. My mother offered me firelighters, but I did not need any of it. Got a fire, but due to heavy wind the hot dogs was not hot, but only lukewarm.
Burn, burn, burn! Fetched some wood after I had got a small fire, needed a big fire to get the hot dogs hot, but, as mentioned…lukewarm was all I could offer..
Out with my bike today while passing by this John Deere out on the field plowing. Spring work very early this year…
The Norwegian proverb “The old are the eldest” suits the old Mercedes. It has not been started for almost ten years, but today we decided to move it from the new barn to the old one. So we towed it about 100 meters with the tractor, voila, running smoothly. Plenty of smoke, but it is a veteran, so that is quite normal. And hey, if you have been asleep for 10 years, your breath would have been quite bad.
Outside the old barn. Breaks no good, so was a bit nervous when driving in to the barn, but no problemo.
Helping out my father in law doing some gardening tending. We needed to cut down the old birch shown in the picture below since it was dead and could fall down anytime.
My oldest son watching it safely from a distance, sitting inside the New Holland.
First needed to cut down a small birch.
Then the large one. Had the wire rope attached high up in the tree, so when I had prepared the undercut my father in law just tightened the rope a bit, and the tree fell down. Notice that quite a lot of the branches just snapped of when the tree hit the ground, proving that the whole tree was pretty dead.
Cutting another tree to pieces, got both chainsaws stuck (fu#¤!!)
But, no problemo, having the right equipment nearby…
Previously I’ve blogged about the bike ride me and Espen had. Thursday morning I spent some quality time down in the basement before work changing from winter to summer tires on my commuter. So now it is ready for more speed back and forth to work.
Friday after work I took the long road out to my in-laws. Started at home and went via Ytre Enebakk, Solbergfoss, Havnås and Hemnes before ending up at my in-laws. 110 kilometers on my new Everest, need the hours before going to Germany.
Quick stop at Solbergfoss.
Walk/bike-path close to Askim.
Yesterday I took the bike out for a quick spin, just a bit more than one hour. Ok, it is no snow left, but head wind three out of four orientations (? – north, south, west, east) and pretty cold made it hard to believe that spring is here…
