Picture from the 16’th of January this year, when we still had old, classic winter. Freezing cold that day, clear sky and even a small ice rainbow. iPhone-camera has its limitations, that’s for sure, but still – it is there

Cross country-skiing at Løken this weekend
Enjoying what might be, but hopefully not, the last pieces of good skiing where we live. Had to go late to the shop yesterday, when I saw someone in the lighte cross-country skiing track down at Løken. So I just went straight home and picked up the skis and headed right back for my first time doing cross-country skiing in….at least two years, possibly more… (not good). And then back this evening as well. The weather forecast is no good for skiing, so maybe once more tomorrow, but then the rain will come and all is gone.

Mini-concert at work yesterday: Ravi
At work yesterday during lunchtime, Ravi having a mini-concert. KLP is sponsoring “Hver gang vi møtes“, therefore he showed up at work.
I was not first in line, but if you look very close to the picture you should be able to see him
Nothing burns like the cold
I feel for quoting Game of Thrones today
“Nothing burns like the cold. But only for a while. Then it gets inside you and starts to fill you up, and after a while you don’t have the strength to fight it.”
. Yet another weather picture, but -24/-25, it’s been a while since the last time it was that cold here.

This seasons forest tending project
On Saturday I started this winters forest tending project. The first day was spent just to make way for the tractor which was pretty much work, a lot of small trees that I needed to get out of the way
The red dot showing how far I got before I had to turn around. For those who know the area, the brown dot to the left is the water tower, Vanntårnet.

My latest book – War and Peace Vol I, Leo Tolstoj
Finished War and Peace volume I. All volumes was given to my partens in-law when the got married. This version was translated back in the 60’s to Norwegian Nynorsk and that makes it even harder, but halfway through the book it got easier. I must admit that I get a bit confused from time to time due to all the details, but all in all it is interesting to read. And I have decided to start reading volume II and postpone volume IV of the new book about Halvor Skramstad written by Jon Michelet (which I am really looking forward to, so I have to hurry up finishing the last three volumes of War and Peace).
