When does a boy become a man?

I wonder when a boy becomes a man, is it when he does grown up things, but if he does childish and stupid things he is still a boy. In Norwegian, consider the following statement

22 years old, I do consider that idiot a man, even though he is doing stuff that even a five year old knows is wrong. Graffiti is cool, sometime at least, but tagging, I’m not able to see why they do it…criminals!

Movies seen the past week

Last weekend we bought the DVD “Kalde Føtter” when out shopping food. I had seen the trailer last year and thought is seemed cool. So, we spent Saturday evening watching something…boring…The story was kinda funny, but the actors – god damn, did they read from a script all the time?? I agree with VG…2 http://www1.vg.no/film/film.php?id=7647

Then yesterday we bought “Babel” http://www.filmweb.no/kino/article101332.ece. Much better, well worth the 99,- kroners spent. The concept of several stories sewn together has been seen before, but that does not matter, the movie is still good.

And today, due to the fact that our apartment sucks right now, it smells paint and we store food in the living room since there are almost no shelves left. I did not feel like going home when we had been out shopping, so I insisted on going to the cinema. So we went to see “Slaget om den forbudte by” (Curse of the Golden Flower) http://www1.vg.no/film/film.php?id=8477 Read the verdict (in Norwegian), funny and I agree 🙂

Started renovating again – the kitchen

Today we have started for real renovating the kitchen, and in about a month we will be finished, looking forward to that I must say. The first layer of wallpaper, the one that really have done our kitchen up until now is mostly teared down, but the underlaying layer I fear a bit more.

In the back you will see Elins new piano, the one she got for free from Opsal Skole. Had some movers in here last week who carried it up the stairs, weighs about 250 kilos I would guess. Well worth the 2500 kroners for having them to do the job I really must say!

Krev din rett – Ayaan Hirsi Ali

My latest book, “Krev din rett” by Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a book about women and Islam. On the front cover there is a quote from Salman Rushdie “Dette er en ekstrem viktig bok, heftig, utfordrende og nødvendig”. It is well worth reading!

Krev din rett

Found her blog here http://hirsialiayaan.web-log.nl/hirsialiayaan/ It is also in fact interesting to just go to the page because it is a very Web 2.0 blog, Mashups and all.

I have also wondered in the past whether or not it was right to publish the pictures of the prophet Muhammad by Jyllands Posten and here in Norway Magazinet http://www.magazinet.no. When all the fuzz was going on I was unsure what was right or not, and I must admit, stupid as I was, I thought it might have been wrong. But now I realize that I have totally changed my opinion. If I should mean that to publish the drawings was wrong, then I should hate the movie “Life of Brian” among other movies, but…I don’t, and I realize that it was the right thing to do. Shame on Norwegian politicians who argued against Magazinet. Read how Ayaan defends her right to offend here http://www.nrc.nl/opinie/article215732.ece – go, Gadget, go!!

Found this article in Magazinet about Christians having been killed in Niger due to the Muslim community suspecting that they had pictures of Muhammad there http://www.magazinet.no/artikkel.asp?Artid=10373. I must say that the more I read and get to know Islam, the more I resist it. It is ok that the government tells me not to drive faster than 30 km/h out in the street, and that I have to pay my tax, but I do not want to be told by elderly men with long beard what to think when at home (true, Koreanen does so), how to treat my woman….must…stop…now…before…I…get…to…angry…and…maybe…will not be able to stop writing…

4000 kilometres on my bikes

Two days ago I pasted the 4000K limit with 10K’s. Most of it spent on my racing bike, but strangely enough I’ve managed to do 1300K on my mountain bike as well. I had hoped to get 5000, but due to two weeks of sickness when we came from Croatia I missed about 400-500 I would guess.

But, not a problem I have other things to waste my time with, try this Sushi Go Round game…stressed me for sure!! http://www.miniclip.com/games/sushi-go-round/en/
