Today I took the test “Test 142: XML 1.1 and Related Technologies” which have the following test objectives http://www-03.ibm.com/certify/tests/obj142.shtml They should really do something with this test, all the other ones I’ve taken have made me able to say that I’m for instance “IBM Certified Portal Developer”, but this one…not possible.

Passed it with a score of 86%, quite happy with that considering the fact that only two days ago when doing the sample test from Prometric I only managed 63% (needed 61% to pass…)

Anyhow, happy to have passed it, found the XML-stuff quite hard since it is a whole new way of thinking compared to for instance my Java programming certifications. And also a huge set of new abbreviations to learn: XML, XSL, XSLT, JAXB, SAX, DOM, DOM2, XSLT-FO, XPATH and the list just keeps on. I prepared by taking the class “Introduction to XML and Related Technologies”, following the tutorials at W3Schools, using sample tests from both Actualtests and Prometric and finally creating a html-presentation of our cd collection by using XML and XSL. Hopefully I will finish it with a nice look and feel and publish it here on my webpage.
