“Latterlig lønnsomt”, the last book I have read. It’s about the importance of having fun at work or where ever you are spending time. Got the book back at Bertel O. Steen. You can read more at http://www.begeistring.no/ which by the way is not a funny webpage, the design sucks, but does it matter…just a bit

I made eggnog
Desperate for a snack in the evening, searching, we had nothing but eggs. Elin told me how to make eggnog, I made it. Elin loved it for one minute, then for the second she felt a bit sickness of it… I loved it, in lack of something else http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eggnog
Weekend at Vestreng
Here are some pictures from this weekend, showing what we have done there the past two days.
Yesterday I put an old heap of spruce branches on fire. I had also cut some grass a cople of weeks ago which was on top of the heap. By using some oil and cardboard I put the whole thing on fire. As the two following pictures show, there where a lot of smoke!

Same heap. For a short while I was thinking what the hell have I done!

Picture taken towards the neighbour at Sandjordet. They are going to cut down the huge maple any day now. It’s a bit sick, and since it the maple or the house, they prefer the house 🙂

There is a beaver in the small stream right close by. It has done a great deal of work making a dam, cutting down a lot of trees.

Today we tried to set the large pile of branches on fire. It did not catch fire in the start, after a while it seamed to have caught fire, but then again it just smoulderd. But what it lacked of flames it for sure compensated with smoke. On a bright and clear autumn day Vestreng was filled with smoke from our fire.

It was quite bad when we left 🙂

Daytime at Sagene
Got this picture from my friend Loy earlier today. He had caught the atmosphere at Sagene during daytime. So this is what elderly people do there 🙂

Per Hansson – Og tok de enn vårt liv
Read the book about the Morset family from Selbu. Almost the whole family was part of the resistance during the second world war. You could read about Peder Morset at http://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peder_Morset, not much but a link at least. A very good book, but it is influenced by being written such a short time after the war.

“Hemmeligheten bak Den gode prestasjon”
Read the book given to me by Bertel O. Steen almost two years ago. Read parts of the book back then, but when in Riga I took the time to read it all. It’s not a novel, and most of it should be quite common knowledge, but what they are able to do is to implement it… http://www.bokanmeldelse.com/8292400141
Back home from Riga
Spend the weekend together with Elin in Riga. We went around shopping, ate good food at cosy places and just used the tram to travel around. Due to me being a bit lazy when reserving the hotel, we ended up at Hotel Bergs. A bit to expensive, but what the heck, we wanted a bit of luxury http://www.hotelbergs.lv/
John Dickie – Cosa Nostra
Read the book written by John Dickie about the Cosa Nostra. Quite interesting, a lot of names to remember, should really read it two times or more. Interesting reading, I recommend it, but do not expect it to be written in Hollywood style.

Greetings from Riga
In Riga now, the view from my hotel room. What am I doing here? Organizing the GSE Nordic WebSphere User Conference http://www.wsug-nordic.org starting tomorrow….
