What would be the worst thing?

Trying to create a top ten list of the things I fear the most my son Anders would do when he grows up is hard, if not impossible to do. But one thing will get a very high ranking that is for sure and that is that he one day would return home to tell us that he digs music such as Mariah Carey!!!! What could possibly be worse? Beats me!

Attacked in the morning

Was just going downstairs to drop a letter in the mailbox to my neighbor. When I got back up again I could feel something on my neck. I raised my hand and tried to remove it when I felt it was something that was crawling. I wiped it away, just to realize that something had stinged me. Here is a video on how to treat such stings http://www.ehow.com/video_3040_treat-wasp-hornet.html

As you can see my neck is red and irritated.

Needless to say, the wasp is … dead …

Trucker

Yesterday I did my time as a truck driver when I had to take the truck which Elins father had used on Friday back to Oslo from Vestreng. To save time he did not return it after work, but instead let me do it. It has been a while since the last time I drove a big car. But, as always, I managed πŸ™‚

Passing Fetsund on my way towards Oslo.

Parked and everything ok

Gardening work this evening

Did some maintenance out in the garden to my in-laws at Vestreng. My first evening this summer spent outside until late doing handy work. Have been a bit to much cycling, but not complaining, because I’m well aware that the story will repeat itself next year πŸ™‚

Anyhow, first I had to fill the ditch. Anders have bought a mobile saw, and needed electricity for it, so he used the tractor digger. I used the shovel to move the dirt back.

Then I chopped down some small trees and moved the “lawn” outside the barn.

There is a bat in my kitchen

There’s a rat in me kitchen what am I gonna do?
There’s a rat in me kitchen what am I gonna go?
I’m gonna fix that rat thats what I’m gonna do,
I’m gonna fix that rat.

Elins mother did a small adjustment to that text earlier today when something was flying around in the kitchen. She was not aware of what it was, she was terrified while the adrenaline was flowing around in her body. She found a stick and hunted it down. Later I opened the plastic bag and found out that it was a bat…so…there was a bat in her kitchen, she knew what to do.

Later another one came out of the chimney in the living room. Elin have never been so scared. I managed to get it inside an ice box before it got all out of the chimney and let it loose outside. Good thing, since they are protected by law which I found out later πŸ™‚

New old cellphone

I had to replace my old phone, the Nokia 5500 Sport. The microphone did not function properly anymore, so people did not hear what I said. So yesterday I went out to the office to pick up a Nokia N73 which was just lying there. Spent about two-three hours all in all, and then I was back up running again. Thanks to the Nokia PC-suite it was easy to transfer my contacts. Just take a backup from the old phone, and do a restore on the new one. The data cable I bought for the old one fits the new one as well, that helps a lot when doing such work. I also upgraded the software on the phone.

The camera on the new one is quite good, 3,2 MP. Apart from that I do not need the new functionality. I guess I will miss the size of the old one, this one is bigger. Also the fact that the old one was meant to cope with more outdoor use than this one. Hope it will last at least a year, since it is exactly a year since I bought the old one /blog/index.php/2007/07/05/new_cellphone_nokia_5500_sport

Tested the camera, here you have me and Anders.

Why worry?

Have read some articles about the new Opera here in Oslo where it gets criticized for not being well formed for disabled persons, in this case the blinds. Here is one of those articles

I must say that I agree when it comes to the interior of the building, it should be accessible for blind people, but why on earth are they complaining about the exterior? There is only one reason to go up on the roof of the building and that is to enjoy the view…
