Kautokeino-opprøret

We went to see the new movie Kautokeino-opprøret http://www.filmweb.no/kino/article117345.ece today. We both found the movie very good, and felt sorry for the rebels being somewhat forced to do what they did. But, when back home we started to read a bit more about the actual event and quite soon realized that there are different views of the incident. The movie covers most of the events that occurred, but it fails due to the fact that we thought that the rebels “had” to do it. Read more here http://www.altaposten.no/lokalt/reportasje/article130654.ece I also found the dr. thesis about the incident http://ask.bibsys.no/ask/action/show?pid=970088949&kid=biblio

By the way…did not know that my friend Loy had a part in the movie

“Gud er norsk” – Aslak Nore

My latest book “Gud er norsk” written by Aslak Nore is a book about Norwegian soldiers serving abroad. Starting with Tysklandsbrigaden after the second world war and up to Iraq and Afghanistan today. I find parts of the book very good and informing, as for other parts…not as good. The first chapter when he takes us back to when he served in Bosnia is … bad … This review is more or likely sharing my opinion http://www.dagbladet.no/kultur/2007/10/12/514798.html

Need to fill up some space

I guess he had a bit of rush, the journalist writing this article http://www.kjendis.no/2008/01/17/524200.html because I can’t seem to figure out why on earth he have placed the picture of Janne Formoe and Synnøve Skarbøe at the beginning since they are not mentioned anywhere else in the article…

Malicious pleasure

Sometimes malicious pleasure might sometimes be the best kind of pleasure. Today when driving to Årvoll for the weekly spinning with Rye I was overtaken by an old Saab. It was for sure not the place to do it, the speed limit was 50 km/t and I drove with that speed. Just up ahead there was a roundabout, so why bother to go that fast. I wish I was a cop so I could stop that idiot when approaching the next roundabout having to break hard because a big car came out from a side road….and YES!!! It was the police, who drove after the Saab…malicious pleasure…. 🙂

Technical difficulties

Read an article about Tor Erling Staff and his client, also known as Lommemannen. It has gotten a lot of attention the past few days, which also the cell phone belonging to Staff has taken notice of

Pågangen på telefonen til Staff har vært massiv de siste dagene. Mobilen hans brøt sammen, så i går måtte han skaffe seg ny.

It is not easy to manage to handle the information overflow, when even the cell phone breaks down. Wonder why the new one will handle it better, larger battery?

Weekend in Prague

We have spent the weekend together with my colleagues in Prague, as alway a very nice city. In January much better than during high season in summer, you are able to walk around without 100.000 other people around you at all time.

I’ve taken pictures off course of the different beer brands I tried, first Gambrinus http://www.gambrinus.com/

Here is a picture from a traditional beer serving tavern we visited, funny enough just across the street where we stayed on our VOT-03 tour. We also drank the dark beer they served there, not sure what brand that was.

Taverna

Found this “thing” beside the sink in one of the restaurant. Not sure if it was to freshen the air in the room, or if it was perfume for free…
