The Equality and Anti-discrimination Ombud
Here in Norway we have “The Equality and Anti-discrimination Ombud“, now being Beate Gangås. I sometimes wonder if we live on the same planet, and after her latest outbreak in the news I seriously doubt it http://www.dagsavisen.no/innenriks/article380441.ece
She says that many women are not able to participate in activities organized under The Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports (NIF) because they are not what women wants and need. What a shitload of crap!! I pay taxes so she can get her salary, jezzes!!! Makes me wanna be like Sex Pistols “I am an anarchist…”
She is clearly not aware of the difference between being an active athlete and just doing some exercising every now and then.

Pillow in concert
Today we went to see Lars Tormod and his band Pillow playing at Den Gode Cafe. Even though I’ve quoted Anne Grethe Preus earlier, I must say that I enjoyed the concert.
Accepting the paternity
To have the Directory of Residents register that Elin and I have joint parental responsibility for Anders it came clear to me that I had to meet up at the register office in person and accept the paternity. A bit annoying that this does not happen automatically, if we had been married it would have.

Dilatant fluids
Yesterday Bendik and Line visited us. We served dinner and dessert, when I was about to finish the dessert – home-made fruit soup I use Potato Flour. Bendik then asked if I had tried to make shear thickening fluid out of water and potato fluid. I had never done that, since I did not even know what it was. So, we had to try. So with the perfect mix of potato flour and water you get a fluid which makes the spoon goes smoothly through it if you stir slowly, but if you do it fast the spoon almost gets stuck.
Funny, but not sure how to use this in real life 🙂

Forest tending
This weekend I spent a couple of hours doing forest tending at Vestreng. I had to thin the forest, to many small trees. Gives us some fire wood as well. I actually stumbled across some old barbed wire which I also removed, or at least I collected it all and put it away under a ledge. This you can see on the upper left picture. The lower on the left shows what I have to do, upper right what I have done, and the lower right shows me taking care of a windfall. You can, if you look closely, see the wire hooked on the tree, ready to pull it down.
