Yesterday I had planned to change to summer tyres, but did not find the time, but Lars Tormod did. Woke up this morning as saw this out of the kitchen window. Must admit this is one day I’m quite happy I was lazy the day before. Guess Volvo-driving is not the best thing to do today 🙂

[video:youtube:rFODBAr5q7M]Finally finished all ten episodes of Band of Brothers and what a serie. A monumental documentation of Easy Company and their struggles from the D-Day until the end of WW2. Really enjoy how you get to know each one of the men, each episode have short interviews of men from Easy before it starts. Must also say that the last episode with the ending with one of them telling a story about a grandson asking grandpa if he was a hero in the war. “No, but I fought with a company of heroes!”. One of them being Major Dick Winters for sure!
A must see, again and again – like Generation Kill, another great HBO series. Also exited about the new series The Pacific, wondering if it will be as good as Band of Brothers and Generation Kill.
My commuter bike broke down about two weeks ago, so I bought a new chain. But, new chain and worn out sprockets are not a good combination. So after advice from Espen I decided to buy the Single Speed Conversion Kit. In that way I will reduce the need for maintenance and hopefully over time reduced cost as well 🙂 Tomorrow I have planned to try it out, hopefully doing 50 kilometers or so.
In addition to the kit I had to buy a new dropout since the internal threads in the old one was long gone. I also had to buy a new KMC 8 chain. The old one was a 9’er, and worn out in just a week because of the old sprockets, but normally you need no more than the kit to convert your bike.

Notice that I use the tension seeker downwards, not upwards. It is recommended to use it upwards, but since I could not cut the KMC-chain just one link, but needed to cut two it would get to tight. Therefore downwards.
We saw “A Serious Man” this evening at home on DVD. Yet another movie by the Cohen brothers. Given very good reviews we hoped for a good laugh…but…neither mine or Elins cup of tea so to speak.
Just realized that my blog has been up and running now for ten years! Pretty hardcore or what?? March 2003 is until now my most active month, back then I posted 62 posts in a month, all in Norwegian then.
If summer comes in a hurry, one of my neighbors are well prepared if the lawn should grow to fast to soon. He has left the lawn mover out on the lawn the whole winter. Me and Anders was out this morning when I spotted it. Not to be all to pessimistic, but I would be surprised if it starts on the first try.
The fourth leg, now I have reached Storforshei, or just Heia as we justed to call it when I was a child. Heia is just 25 kilometers north of Mo i Rana where I grew up. At Heia you can among other things find the Artic Circle Raceway. So now I’ve done almost 1500 kilometers this year riding my bike to work.
When biking to work I am passing Middelalderparken after about 7 kilometers. There you can, among other things, find ruins of an old church and other buildings. And once a year the music festival Øyafestivalen is held there.
At home this evening, late dinner, one can of beer in the refrigerator – could not resist it. Sat down on the couch and grabbed the can, pulling the opener with my index finger when suddenly…it just bent, so the box did not open. A state of emergency was immediately issued at home. I rushed out to the kitchen to safer ground, looking for tools to help me out, when I decided to try to use my thumb….and yes!! The can was open, state of emergency was lifted, order was restored and we could enjoy our wolffish filet
