Peace yet again restored with Sweden

Refering to the dog poop incident here the other day, where my conclusion was that I felt good, but it did not solve the problem. I was wrong, snow on Saturday (and a major hang over) so I was not able to verify it then, but yesterday I did…and…it was gone, and no one of my neighbours have removed, that I know…so my conclusion is: The Swede came back later that day and did as he promised. So…Swedes are ok people after all!

Fu¤#¤!@ Swedish dog owner

Just when Elin went out this morning to drive to work I realised that I had forgotten something in the car. On my way out I saw a guy letting his dog poop on our lawn. When returning from the car I saw the guy jogging away, and 1 minute later when passing the lawn I saw a big poop lying there. I snapped, turned around immediately and ran after the guy. Did catch him up quite fast and yelled at him big time. Did it solve the problem? No! Did I feel good about myself? YES!!!!!

She thinks my tractor is sexy

LOL!!

…She thinks my tractor’s sexy
It really turns her on
She’s always staring at me
While I’m chuggin along
She likes the way it’s pullin’ while we’re tillin’ up the land
She’s even kind of crazy ’bout my farmer’s tan
She’s the only one who really understands what gets me
She thinks my tractor’s sexy…

Generation Kill kicks ass!

Spent some time reading more about Generation Kill this evening, and I must say I dig it even more (is that possible??). I was not aware of the fact that the story is based on real life experiences, and also real life characters. The mini serie is based on the book of Evan Wright, the Rolling Stone reporter in Sgt. Brad ‘Iceman’ Colbert’s hummer. I like Generation Kill because it is the real stuff, no love story involved or such stuff, just “every day life” as normal as it could be for them invading Iraq. Find out more on Wikipedia

Try doing a search for the names of the characters, and you will find information about each one of them…

Next year HBO will release a new mini-serie about the WW2, “The Pacific”. Might not be as good as Generation Kill, but the filming looks impressing, a must see…

Stupid quiz from Dagbladet

There has been a major issue in the newspapers that the government car which drove our industry minister, Trond Giske, broke the speed limit. As a follow-up of this, Dagbladet presents a quiz where people can say whether they think

  1. This is bad
  2. This is ok
  3. Does not care at all

I pressed the last option, but when the results came out, the questions where totally different. I care about both speed limits and ministers, but I do not care about this incident. Why not? Because according to our road traffic law clause 11, it is ok, see for yourself at Lovdata. I find it stupid, presenting the options as “yes”, “no”, “don’t care” when you ask people to vote, but when you present the result you add a whole lot of text to the options.

Saturday and Sunday at home

Saturday morning started with very nice weather in Mosjøen so I took a short run up the nearest mountain. Later that day me and Ingrid drove to both Korgen and Båsmoen where Jonas and I tok the dog called Rag out to play. Sunday was quite cold, and what I first thought was reflections from a sunscreen in the window was a frost drawing created by Ingrid. And later that day, before heading back to Mosjøen, we saw Hemnes Skolekorps in concert.

Travelling up north

On my way home on Friday. Flew from Gardermoen to Værnes and changed plane. Had to take a picture of the information screen at the airport there, not much flight info, but more about the operating system and such.

The flight from Trondheim to Mosjøen had a stop at Sandnessjøen. Just before the landing the captain said: “This is the captain speaking, today we have pretty bad conditions, we will try to land at Sandnessjøen so please tighten your seat belts extra good…” The picture from when we waited for the new passengers to enter speaks for itself.
