Out mountainbiking at Årvoll

Today Espen and I spent about 2 hours in Lillomarka on single tracks, some offered very good conditions for biking, others…we had to walk. And all of a sudden out there in the woods we stumbled over Ole Høilands cave. You can read more about it here http://www.friluftsetaten.oslo.kommune.no/skog_mark/turtips_marka/arvoll/

We did not find “Ole Høilands skatt”, 64.000 spesidaler in 1836…a bit more than one million Norwegian kroner if compared with the current money value.

Paternity leave rules!

Yesterday morning when I got up I was really happy that I have my paternity leave now. I looked out of the bathroom window and noticed that the traffic was standing still, almost no moment at all, both on the sideways down at Alnabru and on the motorway. This due to the first snowfall this season and people still using summer tyres. How stupid can they be. Morten has also written something about it http://www.mknudsen.org/?p=245, linking to a news article as well.

Better be prepared, water alarm mounted

To get an early warning in case of a water leak I have mounted a water alarm underneath the kitchen sink today. The neighbour downstairs had an accident earlier this year, the pipe to the dish washer leaked, but luckily for him he was home and was able to stop the water from causing a disaster.

I bought it at Clas Ohlson, I guess Kent wish he had been able to join me when I was there, it is by far his favourite shop as I know 🙂

Todays dinner

Just had to blog about the dinner I made today, mostly to remember the recipe myself for later. But also to tip you all, my reqular readers about this recipe. I must really recommend the tropical sauce.

First, the actual dinner, Pork Fillet, no rocket science

Rips = redcurrant. The measure SS = table spoon. TS = tea spoon. Stk = one piece.

Gigantic shopping cart

On Saturday I was doing communal work when my sports club, Sportsklubben Rye, had the yearly Rye-fest. My duty was to buy the beer for the dinner, 90 persons and 2 bottles each, I needed a very large shopping cart. OBS Løren to the rescue. The cart is almost as big as Espens Toyota Yaris.

Yesterday Espen and I was returning the empty bottles. Imagine how heavy the cart was when it was full of beer.
