Yesterday we participated in Vestfold Rundt, 165 kilometers around Vestfold county. By far my worst experience this year, hope it will stay that way 🙂 I guess the need for me to sleep on a towel due to pretty much sweat the night before had something to do with it, but never the less, I managed to keep up with the speed and passed the finish line with my team. Someone had tiped him about going to see the early warning sound mirrors.
A forerunner of Radar, acoustic mirrors were built on the south and northeast coasts of England between about 1916 and the 1930s. The ‘listening ears’ were intended to provide early warning of incoming enemy aeroplanes and airships about to attack coastal towns. With the development of faster aircraft the sound mirrors became less useful, as an aircraft would be within sight by the time it had been located, and radar finally rendered the mirrors obsolete.

We where watching the Omid Djalili-show as usual this Thursday evening. He had a joke about a judge having a special problem, he had the “Foreign accent syndrome”. Afterwards he told that it is actually a real syndrome. I looked it up on Wikipedia, read more about it there http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_accent_syndrome
To the untrained ear, those with the syndrome sound as though they speak their native languages with a foreign accent; for example, an American native speaker of English might sound as though they speak with a British accent…

Today I competed together with my team in Nordmarka Rundt. 155 kilometers around…Nordmarka. Starting from Valle Hovin, towards Bærum, Jevnaker, Roa and back to Valle Hovin. My team did reach our goal almost, I believe we ended up with the time 4.20, we where hoping for 4.18. I had to stop about 500 meters before the finish line due to one man flipping over and hitting the pavement. Not sure by now, but we assume he fractured his collar bone. The accident was caused by a stupid driver in a car forcing his way out in front of us, making the first ones brake hard. Sadly enough we had four men down today, that is way to many!! I’m just lucky it wasn’t me…
Today I passed 2000 kilometers on my bike this year.
My latest book is “Gøy på landet? Landbruk i ei postmoderne tid” written by Dag Jørund Lønning. Just found it in the bookshelf and decided to read it. A present to Elin from her friend Arve for her 25’th birthday.
Forfattaren ser på framtida til det norske landbruket, og hevdar at det finst eit rekrutteringspotensial til landbruket dersom styresmaktene er villige til å lytte til kva dei unge seier. Boka freistar å utvikle eit nytt syn på landbruket, der verdiar er viktigare enn pengar. Landbrukspolitikken har i stor monn redusert gardsdrift til eit spørsmål om kroner og øre og subsidiar. Dei unge er meir opptekne av sosiale, kulturelle og økologiske verdiar seier forfattaren. Han oppfordrer styresmaktene til å tenkje nytt og til å leggje forholda til rette for eit alternativt landbruk.

Den presenterer seg som en metametodefilm i rekken av filmer som bruker Moores stil mot Moore selv, men ender snarere opp som en ufrivillig iscenesettelse av et skuffet politisk begjær over den potensielle lederskikkelsens manglende messianisme i hverdagen.
