Early bike ride: Tunsjøen – Gurihøldalen – Svanmoåsen – Aurskog – Bjørkelangen

Yet another chance today. Started out the same direction as yesterday, but when at Tunnsjøbotten I headed north towards Aurskog. Here at Tunnsjøbotten, the old barn is no more

View from the old croft (I do belive that’s the correct word) – small farm, towards Tunsjøen

Quite steep up from Tunnsjøbotn up towards Gurihølsæter, see the workout analysis for details, link below.

Up at Svanmoåsen where I was able to ride my bike for some short distances. But since there had been done tending of the road not many years ago there was plenty of small tree stumps so I decided to carry and push the bike to avoid the gear shifter to be torn off by a stubborn stump.

All names along the route found thanks to Norgeskart. See all details at Sports-tracker.com

Early bike ride: Tunsjøen – Skottdalen – Korsbekken – Langfoss

Woke up 06:30 today, very nice weather and the youngest one at his grandparents – got up and had a quick breakfast and headed out. A bit chilly, sometimes when walking over bog’s the water froze to ice on the tyres when I stopped. Apart from that, all fine.

First picture – the barrier at Tunsjøen

An old house by Tunsjøen

A cabin on a small island

At the end of Tunsjøen

End of the road and now on to the road less travelled.

Passing just by the border of Prestehesten nature reserve

No road, had to carry the bike. 3-4 km which I had to push and carry the bike over bog. Tried to avoid to get wet since it was chilly and therefore it was a bit of ups and downs – mostly ups.

Bog

Skottdalen, a bit to wet to ride the bike, had to push it.

First bike ride this year

Yesterday I had the first bike ride this year, and actually the first bike ride since the 31’st of July 2014 (!!!). A bit chilly, but apart from that really nice weather at Korsbekken.

Cross country-skiing at Løken this weekend

Enjoying what might be, but hopefully not, the last pieces of good skiing where we live. Had to go late to the shop yesterday, when I saw someone in the lighte cross-country skiing track down at Løken. So I just went straight home and picked up the skis and headed right back for my first time doing cross-country skiing in….at least two years, possibly more… (not good). And then back this evening as well. The weather forecast is no good for skiing, so maybe once more tomorrow, but then the rain will come and all is gone.
Picture from yesteday evening.

A good wife – spending a night at a hotel

Last weekend together with colleagues from work I did participate in Holmenkollstafetten. Good day, did run 24 seconds faster than last year (7:57), I got the night off as well from home so I could attend to the banquet and sleep a whole night – staying at Scandic Hotel at Helsfyr…luxury!

Spinning to Samsaya

Yesterday I was spinning while listening to Samsaya and her new album Bombay Calling. Did enjoy it while working out, has a couple of potential hits as well. Simen did previously ask me to provide more details about each album I listen to, to much work, instead providing a link to a review of the album

And here showing how easy it is to loose focus while working out. Just by reaching out my hand I am able to grab a beer, or booze for that matter…trying to stay strong.

Rowing to Scott Weiland & The Wildabouts

Yesterday rowing while listening to Scott Weiland and The Wildabouts and their album Blaster. Was actually not aware of it when picking the album, but I have listened to him a lot before when he was part of Stone Temple Pilots. Anyhow, Blaster, quite enjoyable, but not really work out music. Not really sure if I will listen to the album several times, but I won’t turn off the music if it comes on the radio.

Spinning to The Sonics

…The Sonics are an American garage rock band from Tacoma, Washington, originating in the early 1960s.[1] Among the Sonics’ contemporaries were the Kingsmen, the Wailers, the Dynamics, the Regents, and Paul Revere & the Raiders. Their aggressive, hard-edged sound has been a major influence on punk, garage, and hard rock music worldwide, and they’ve been named as inspirations by Nirvana, Bruce Springsteen, The Fall, and other major artists….

“This is the Sonics” was released just now, and was quite enjoyable, might listen to the album several times when working out.

Spinning to Brant Bjork and the Low Desert Punk Band

On Sunday I finally got help to carry my spinning bike in from the barn and down to the basement. So once again, I could do a “spinning to” (I could have done it outside in the barn as well, but I prefer being inside when doing indoor training…). So this time spinning to Brant Bjork and the Low Desert Punk Band and the album Black Power Flower. As much as I like desert rock, it is a bit hard to keep up the pace on my spinning bike for the length of the whole album while listening to kinda slow music (but still heavy), so I did actually finish it all up with some Hatebreed.
