Trip to Haukenestårnet
Loaded the car last Friday and headed off to Rømskog to visit Haukenestårnet. From where we parked the car it was just about 15-20 minutes walk (or run, the boys ran all the way both to and from). The tower is always open.
Heading home, I had to speed up or else the boys would outrun me totally
Renovation progress
The drainage is not up to date, so my father in-law is doing what he knows best – digging using the backhoe. Actually, the foundation has no protection against the groundwater and soil, so we need to add that along with new drainage pipes.
And the old birch tree had to go. As we know it was planted back in 1892 when the local sheriff (? – lensmann) moved to the house we know live in. The tree was actually rotten inside, along with the leaves, branches and birch juice tearing on the roof, so we had to remove it. Securing using the winch it was pretty easy to

Commuting to work using my bike
Nice weather and plenty of time, got up early and headed for work on my bike. When at Gan I decided to go where I never had been before. Assuming that there should be gravel roads/tracks/single tracks between Gan and Hvalstjern I turned right and headed of into the woods. As usual, at some point I should have turned right but I did not, therefore the gravel road which shrunk into a single track later shrunk into almost no track, see pictures below. But no problem due to the dry conditions.
Must explore the tracks there at a later point.
All in all a very good morning, 56 kilometers and almost two and a half hour on the bike, like everyday should have been (but can’t)
