A book of horror, mostly since you get to realize that many of the people who did the most horrible things during WW2 where just ordinary people in the beginning, just like you and me, and when the war was over, they returned to their ordinary lives. Makes you think…could I have done the same thing? And also, even though Hitler himself was not a highly educated man, many of the leading Nazis where…and still…

Or in Norwegian: Historien om nazistenes leiemordere, written by Guido Knopp. A fearful book about how corrupted humans can be, killing of millions of people, from small children to elders, but still recommended reading in order to understand why this could happen.

A lot of details, hard to follow the story due to many names to keep track of, almost grueling to read, but most of all a terrifying story of what a few men are able to make a whole nation go through.

Well worth reading!

Latest book I read when traveling by train from Mosjøen to Trondheim Sunday afternoon. Very interesting book about Dynamo Kiev before and during WW2. Also interesting to read the story about Babij Jar and the Siretz death camp. Kåre Willoch, prime minister in Norway from 1981 to 1986 talks about the future by reviwing the history. A well written book which I highly recommend. It has provided me with better understanding of what “market economy” _really_ is and also a much better understanding of the Middle East conflict – focusing especially on Israel/Palestina. A wise man!

Trying to be an even better dad, reading theory. Have made me rethink some stuff I say and do to my kids. Recommended reading.

WW2, and since I have already read Stalingrad and Berlin, D-Day written by Anthony Beevor is a must.

Yet another impressing book from one of my favorite writers Alf R. Jacobsen. The book is about the 9’th of April 1940 when Germany invaded Norway, focusing on the sinking ot the German cruiser Blücher caused by shooting from the fortress Oscarsborg and how close it was that the whole German invasion actually failed. Thanks to Norwegian defeatism, lead by the Norwegian government. If someone could have shown strong leadership the Germans could have been forced to turn around. But at least thanks to people such as Birger Eriksen the invasion was delayed so much that the king, government, the gold reserves and more where able to escape.

A book well worth spending time reading!

What a waste of money. This book edited by Kagge Forlag, but no actual writer of the book is known. It is supposed to be a compilation of stories from various Norwegian snipers in Afghanistan, but – give me a month of research and I could have written the exact same thing myself. So who really knows, is the book real or just pure fiction? At least it could have had a foreword of some known person giving the book at least a small amount of credibility. Spend your money on better books is my advice.

I would instead recommend Elitesoldat, at least the writers of the book is known by name.
