I hurt myself here the other day

I woke up a few nights ago and felt really thirsty so I stood up and walked to the kitchen. When standing there in the dark I saw that the glass was on the table in the living room. I picked it up, and when walking back to the kitchen I managed to kick my foot really hard into one of our chairs. It did hurt like heΒ€#, but I managed not to shout, drank my water and got back to bed. After five minutes with the pain not going away I turned on the light on my cell phone and checked my toe, there was blood!!! So I got up and applied a band aid.

The next day Elin found a lot of blood on the floor – so I took pictures of it to prove how hard I was hurt … the first one is from the bed…

What I’ve done today

I’ve been active today.

First I used the high-pressure hose to clean the tarmac outside our main entrance because it was covered with moss. You can see the stripes on the tarmac after the water jetting.

Then, after we have had a lot of visitors today I went out and painted the mounting covering the cable tv cables.

I finished up the work today with moving the lawn for the first time this year. Here you see Elin and Anders going out for a walk over the mowed lawn.

My car has now

My car has now passed 70.000 kilometers, still going strong. I thought when I got to know that we should get a child that I needed to buy a new one, but no – we perfectly manage. Peugeot 206 SW covers all our needs.

Voluntary Communal Work (Dugnad)

Today we had the yearly event of voluntary communal work in our housing cooperative. Not to much to do this year, but then Anne-Lise, or neighbor, said that she wanted to get rid of a large tree. As it turned our, I had the chainsaw and protection gear in the car, so after the neighbors had said ok I started doing my work. Note that I without 5 years of forester training school did not hurt anyone πŸ˜€

I’ve posted pictures showing what we did, press “Read more” to see the all. The first one shows how it was before we started.

WebSphere rocks!!

You might think that this is work related, and you are not totally wrong, but then again a bit wrong πŸ™‚

First off all, WebSphere do rock, but this time it is my friend Brian who I know from several WebSphere-events who plays the drums at this years Impact in Las Vegas. Jerry Cuomo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gennaro_A._Cuomo is also playing together with him. What other software brand has such a cool CTO πŸ™‚

By the way, Brian is invited by me and the people from Norsk Tipping to race Birkebeinerrittet http://www.birkebeiner.no/ (Brian, as I promised, you can use my bike πŸ™‚ )

Youtube has it all!

Just surfing around, I found one of my old teachers at YouTube, namely Harry Bjerkli. He is a very local country singer back home, but he sure knows his way around on the Internet.

The song is in Norwegian, so if you don’t understand my native language enjoy the tunes at least πŸ™‚

Spring is here

Two days ago they our street was cleaned, surely a sign that spring is here. Some years ago they did it quite early, then winter came back with snow and the need for the sanding truck to start driving again…and then wash the streets yet again. Hopefully winter won’t return this year!

Bad response time on my blog

I’m currently having some issues with my blog giving it bad response times. Seems like it caused by connection problems with the database (MySql). The error log have some errno=2013 errors, can’t understand that all my problems are caused by some timeout issues. Must continue investigating this…

16.04.08: Small update. Testing right now, the response time is as it should be, very good. Maybe my ISP have done some fixing without me being aware of it. Hopefully it will stay this way

17.04.08 00:21 Got an email from my ISP Hostean. They have cleaned up the server, and now my blog is yet again fast as Speedy Gonzales!!
